Tejashwi Yadavs March to Raj Bhavan Criticized by NDA Leaders as Political Stunt

Patna, August 14: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly, plans to march to the Raj Bhavan on August 19. This march is a response to the recent incident involving students being targeted with an AK-47. Following this announcement, leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have sharply criticized Yadav and the RJD, claiming that the march is not about student issues but rather a political drama to secure his own standing.

Bihar government minister Ramkripal Yadav questioned the timing of Tejashwi’s proposed march, stating, “You are now staging this drama for a march that should have been addressed earlier. When you should have been fulfilling your role as the opposition leader, you were abroad. Now, upon your return, you are putting on this act.”

He further criticized Yadav, saying, “The position of Leader of the Opposition is serious. Unfortunately, you have been appointed to it. Just because your party is large, you have been given this status. Are you fulfilling your responsibilities?”

Ramkripal added, “When it was your time to act as the opposition leader, you were overseas. Now you return to perform theatrics. The public has expressed their disdain, and your party is facing internal strife. Your workers are leaving, yet you choose to march over student issues.”

He emphasized that the Prime Minister understands the students’ plight, noting that new legislation has been introduced, fast-track courts established, and measures taken to ensure the NEET exam is conducted smoothly. “Now that you are awake to these issues, this march will have no impact. The people of Bihar are not interested,” he concluded.

BJP MLC Santosh Singh from Kaimur also targeted Tejashwi, stating, “These are double-standard individuals. They supported protests at Jantar Mantar and in Bihar, yet remain silent in Jharkhand. They have no genuine concern for students and are merely politicizing their future. If they have the courage, they should demand that those responsible for attacking students in Jharkhand be jailed.”
