
Washington, August 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the achievements of the Indian-American community across various sectors. He emphasized that the community’s ongoing connection to India’s cultural heritage serves as a source of strength for the nation.
In a message sent to the National Alliance of Indian Organizations (NAIO), PM Modi highlighted the significance of celebrating both India’s 80th Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States. He stated that these celebrations reflect the close ties between the two democratic nations.
In his message dated August 13, PM Modi expressed, “I am pleased to know that the National Alliance of Indian Organizations is celebrating India’s 80th Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States.”
He noted that this joint celebration showcases the values that connect New Delhi and Washington. “These celebrations illustrate the close relationship between India and the United States, based on our shared democratic values,” he added.
PM Modi remarked that the strong bond between Mother India and the Indian diaspora is evident in their contributions, which have always been a source of strength for the country. He specifically acknowledged the Indian-American community’s significant role in various fields, including science, technology, education, culture, and public institutions.
He stated, “The vibrant Indian-American community has gained recognition for its achievements in diverse areas such as science, technology, education, public service, and the arts. Additionally, this community has remained closely connected to India’s rich cultural heritage.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized the role of migrant groups in preserving Indian traditions and fostering connections between generations. He noted that such organizations help young Indian-Americans stay connected to their heritage.
He said, “Migrant organizations play a crucial role in keeping our traditions alive and promoting community spirit. They also encourage the younger generation to remain connected to their roots.”
PM Modi congratulated the Alliance for its memorable programs and praised the contributions of the Indian community in the country’s schools, healthcare, businesses, and communities. He extended his best wishes for the successful celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day and the United States’ 250th anniversary.
