Patna, August 14: Following the Bihar government‘s decision to provide financial assistance and a government job to a family member of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, Prashant Kishor, leader of the Jan Suraj Party and MLA, stated that while this move is a positive step, it does not deliver complete justice.
Kishor argued that true justice requires identifying those responsible for allegedly ordering and executing the shooting. He emphasized the need for personal accountability in judicial investigations and insisted that those found guilty must face legal consequences.
He also questioned why families of other youths killed in police encounters are not receiving similar assistance. Specifically mentioning the family of Bunty Yadav, he argued that relief should not be limited to just one case due to political reasons.
Kishor’s remarks came after meeting residents of Ward No. 16 in the Bankipur assembly constituency to thank voters for his decisive victory. Supporters celebrated by weighing him with laddus, after which Kishor addressed the gathering.
He stated that a government job and financial compensation cannot alleviate the grief of losing a loved one. He stressed that holding the police accountable for their alleged actions is a far more critical issue.
Kishor also took the opportunity to attack Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, claiming that the Bankipur election results have shifted the government’s stance on police encounters. He alleged that the government is now under increased pressure to respond to questions regarding these encounters. He noted that the results in Bankipur influenced the government’s decision regarding Tiwari’s family.
Additionally, Kishor expressed concern over the fees charged by private schools, claiming that costs related to re-enrollment and uniforms are becoming burdensome for families. He announced plans to meet with school administrators to work towards reducing fees, as children’s education remains a top priority for him.
Kishor promised that the quality of government schools in the Bankipur area would improve by next year’s Dussehra. He stated that if the promised improvements do not materialize, he would take personal responsibility for enrolling children from affected families in private schools and covering their fees.
He reiterated his commitment to creating employment opportunities in Bankipur, aiming to provide at least one educated individual from each of the 10,000 families in the constituency with a job, particularly targeting educated youths who are currently unemployed.
