Patna, April 2: Minister Shreyasi Singh has responded sharply to the remarks made by Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly. She accused him of bringing embarrassment to Bihar.
In a media interaction in Patna, Singh stated that whether it is Tejashwi Yadav or Rahul Gandhi, whenever they travel outside Bihar or India, they tarnish the image of both. She questioned Yadav’s commitment as a true opposition leader, asking why he often goes missing from the Assembly and fails to fulfill his responsibilities. According to Singh, listening to Yadav’s statements will neither benefit nor harm anyone.
Addressing concerns about women’s safety, she acknowledged the recent incidents that have raised alarms. However, she expressed confidence in the Home Department, led by Samrat Chaudhary, stating that they are working diligently. While justice may be delayed, she assured that the NDA government is committed to ensuring it. Criminals will face severe punishments to set a precedent that wrongdoing will have consequences.
Singh also mentioned the reopening of the Eklavya Residential School, which will provide accommodations and meals for children.
Regarding the performance of Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ishan Kishan in the Indian Premier League (IPL), she noted that past disputes within the state’s association had negatively impacted players. The government is making significant efforts to promote sports in Bihar. They are collaborating with the association to build quality stadiums, with a stadium in Rajgir nearing completion and improvements underway for cricket grounds. Singh believes a strong foundation for sports is being established in Bihar.
She added that there is no set deadline for constructing district-level stadiums, as some require renovation.
On the topic of Bihar’s next Chief Minister, she stated that the decision will be made by the NDA’s top leadership.
