Noida, May 30: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG)) 2026 faced delays at several examination centers across the country due to technical issues on Friday.
The conducting agency, TCS, confirmed the technical problem, stating that a malfunction in their system caused the exams to start late at some centers. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released an official notice confirming that the technical issue has been resolved, and the exams are now proceeding smoothly.
The agency assured that no student would suffer due to this delay. All affected candidates were given the full allotted time to complete their papers. According to the NTA, students whose exams began late in the morning session were granted additional time to finish their papers. These candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination center before the exam concludes, ensuring they have the opportunity to complete the test within the extended timeframe.
Due to the technical issues, changes were also made to the afternoon session’s exam schedule. As per the revised timetable, candidates are now required to report for the afternoon session starting at 2:30 PM, with the exam, originally set to begin at 3:00 PM, now starting at 4:00 PM. The NTA stated that these adjustments aim to maintain the smooth conduct of the examination and provide equal opportunities for all candidates. The agency expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to students and their parents.
In its statement, the NTA emphasized that maintaining the fairness and transparency of the examination process is their top priority. They assured that no candidate would face disadvantages due to technical barriers. Meanwhile, students and parents present at the examination centers expressed concern over the delays, although the decision to provide extra time offered some relief. The NTA urged all candidates to adhere to the revised schedule and stay updated with official exam-related information.
