Dehradun, June 19: The world-renowned Kedarnath Temple in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, is currently witnessing an unprecedented influx of pilgrims. With the weekend and holidays, the number of visitors is steadily rising. A significant number of devotees from across the country and abroad are arriving to pay their respects to Baba Kedarnath. As of Thursday evening, approximately 1,270,903 pilgrims had visited the temple.
The enthusiasm among the arriving devotees is palpable. Many have expressed that after years of longing, they finally have the opportunity to see Baba Kedarnath. Following their visit, many pilgrims appeared emotional, describing the experience as a memorable and spiritual milestone in their lives.
One devotee shared that the journey to the temple, climbing from below to reach Baba’s court, is truly otherworldly. The atmosphere here is divine. Visitors have praised the arrangements made by the administration and the temple committee. They noted that the facilities for darshan, safety, health, and other basic needs are satisfactory, ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience.
Others have remarked that arriving at Kedarnath feels like stepping into heaven. A female pilgrim mentioned that the facilities are quite good, with toilets and water stations available at regular intervals. Affordable hotels are also accessible for those wishing to stay.
However, some pilgrims have raised concerns regarding the horse and mule services operating along the footpaths. They reported that the movement of these animals sometimes causes inconvenience to those walking, leading to jostling and discomfort. Devotees have urged the administration to improve management for both foot travelers and the horse-mule services to enhance safety and ease during the pilgrimage.
