Mumbai, June 20: In a significant development, the Kanpur Dehat police have arrested a man known as ‘Bottle Baba’, also identified as Hariom Yadav, following serious allegations against him. A woman has accused him of attempted sexual assault. Upon receiving a complaint, the police acted swiftly to apprehend the accused and his accomplices.
The victim, a resident of Auraiya district, reported that on June 15, her two brothers-in-law took her to the village of Chain Ka Purwa in Kanpur Dehat to meet the alleged Baba, under the pretext of performing a ritual.
During the alleged ceremony, Baba Hariom Yadav reportedly harassed the woman and attempted to sexually assault her. Following the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case against five individuals, including the victim’s brothers-in-law.
The primary accused, Baba Hariom Yadav, along with his associate Deepak, has been arrested and placed in judicial custody.
Alok Prasad, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Kanpur Dehat, stated, “Based on the complaint, charges have been filed against five individuals. The main accused, Hariom Yadav, and his associate Deepak are now in custody. Further legal actions will be taken based on the evidence.”
Authorities have revealed that the woman was brought to Baba Hariom Yadav due to fears of a dark shadow affecting her. The police are currently interrogating the Baba regarding the allegations of harassment and attempted assault.
