Mumbai, June 19: Ruchi Veera, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, has expressed strong concerns regarding the alleged theft of donations related to the Ram Temple. She called for an impartial investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Veera also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for attempting to weaken opposition parties.
Veera highlighted the seriousness of the Ram Temple donation and stone theft issue, stating that it is not merely a case of theft but a matter deeply connected to the faith of millions of devotees. She emphasized that stones worth hundreds of crores have been stolen from Ayodhya, urging the Supreme Court to intervene and ensure a fair investigation and strict action against the culprits.
The MP alleged that those accused are linked to the temple management, suggesting that this should be viewed as more than just theft, but as “robbery.” She noted that people across the country contributed to the temple’s construction with faith and devotion, and any misuse of those funds or materials is deeply unfortunate and concerning.
In response to reports of dissent among some MPs from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Shiv Sena (UBT), Veera accused the BJP of engaging in politics aimed at undermining opposition parties. She stated that the BJP excels at breaking parties and winning over leaders to their side. However, she clarified that the situation of the Samajwadi Party is unique and should not be compared to other states or parties.
Veera reacted sharply to Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar’s suggestion that she join the BJP, stating that his comments should not be taken seriously. She dismissed his statements as baseless rumors and claimed to have credible information that many BJP leaders wish to join the Samajwadi Party, including Rajbhar himself.
Addressing speculation about her distancing from the party, Veera clarified that she has never separated herself from the party and has not taken any steps to do so. She mentioned that the organizers of a recent event did not include her in their invitations or display her picture, which does not imply any separation on her part.
Veera further stated that she is actively working for the party’s PDA (Backward, Dalit, and Minority) campaign, continuously advocating for the rights of the marginalized and oppressed. She expressed confidence in her national president, Akhilesh Yadav, and the unity of the party.
Additionally, Veera raised concerns about a meeting organized by some party leaders, demanding an investigation into it. She alleged that certain individuals behind this event are attempting to harm the party. She called for the identification of those trying to undermine the organization and for strict action against them, suggesting they should be sent back to their original districts to maintain discipline within the party.
