Supreme Court Takes Notice of Twisha Sharma Death Case, Hearing Scheduled for May 25

New Delhi, May 24: The Supreme Court has officially entered the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case from Madhya Pradesh. Chief Justice Suryakant has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter, recognizing its seriousness. A bench led by the Chief Justice will hear the case on Monday, May 25.

Since Twisha Sharma’s death, there have been ongoing questions regarding the investigation. Family members and others have alleged that judicial interference and alleged pressures have hindered a fair investigation. This has turned the case into a national topic of discussion.

Previously, on Friday, Twisha Sharma’s family expressed gratitude to the Madhya Pradesh government and the High Court for ordering a CBI investigation and permitting a second post-mortem. The High Court issued this crucial order while hearing a petition filed by Twisha’s family.

The family had challenged a lower court’s decision that denied permission for a second post-mortem. They claimed that irregularities and procedural lapses in the first post-mortem raised questions about the investigation’s integrity.

Twisha’s cousin, Ashish Sharma, stated that the family continues to seek justice. He urged the authorities to complete all necessary actions promptly so that the final rites could be conducted.

Meanwhile, Twisha’s uncle, Lokesh Sharma, thanked Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the Madhya Pradesh government for the order for a CBI investigation. He emphasized that only after the influential accused are punished will the public’s trust in the law and justice system be strengthened.
