Subhash Ghai Sparks Excitement for Taal 2 Among Fans

Mumbai, June 7: The film ‘Taal’, released in 1999, is still celebrated for its captivating story, music, and stunning presentation. Recently, discussions about a sequel have intensified. Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai took to social media to ask fans whether he should create ‘Taal 2’.

This question has ignited curiosity among film enthusiasts, who are eager to see the enchanting world of ‘Taal’ on the big screen once again.

In a post on Instagram, Ghai shared a photo and recalled receiving high praise from the famous Hollywood critic Roger Ebert for ‘Taal’. He reminisced about the 2005 screening of the film at Ebertfest in Chicago, where Ebert lauded the movie as “pure entertainment” filled with “innocence.” He noted that the film possessed a delightful, classic Hollywood-style musical essence that had nearly vanished from American cinema at that time. Ebert particularly appreciated the music, choreography, and performances, including that of Aishwarya Rai.

Reflecting on this compliment, Ghai expressed feeling “very fortunate” and posed an important question to his fans: “Do you want me to produce ‘Taal 2’ with a new young talented director and cast in India?”

Released in 1999, Ghai’s ‘Taal’ is considered one of the most memorable musical films in Hindi cinema. Starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, and Akshay Khanna, the film won the hearts of audiences with its remarkable story, exceptional music, and powerful performances. ‘Taal’ achieved significant success at the box office and made a notable impact both domestically and internationally. The film received several prestigious awards, and its music continues to be a favorite among fans.
