Mumbai, August 31: Actor Shreyas Talpade has carved a unique niche in Indian cinema. Renowned director Subhash Ghai recently praised Talpade, highlighting his remarkable acting skills that consistently surprise audiences.
Ghai took to Instagram to share a photo of Talpade, stating, “Whether it’s the film ‘Iqbal’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, or ‘Dhamal’, Shreyas is one of Mumbai’s most versatile actors. Unfortunately, he has not received the recognition he truly deserves in our industry.”
He continued, “His portrayal of a mute and deaf cricketer in ‘Iqbal’ earned us a National Award, and he made ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ a major hit. Just last week, he astonished us all with his powerful scenes on the set of our under-production courtroom drama ‘The India Story’.”
Ghai concluded his message with gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Shreyas, for your return to Mukta Arts. Many more fantastic films are on the horizon. Stay happy always.”
Looking back at Shreyas Talpade’s career, he made his Bollywood debut in 2005 with Nagesh Kukunoor’s film ‘Iqbal’, where he played an ambitious deaf and mute cricketer. His heartfelt and simple performance won the hearts of audiences, catapulting him to fame overnight. This film was released under Subhash Ghai’s production house, Mukta Arts.
Following this, he achieved significant success with ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ (2006) and played Pappu Master in the blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007) alongside Shah Rukh Khan. He solidified his place in the comedy genre with his role as Lakshman in Rohit Shetty’s popular ‘Golmaal’ series (Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, Golmaal Again).
Additionally, he has delivered outstanding performances in films like ‘Housefull 2’, ‘Bombay to Bangkok’, and ‘Wah Taj’. Beyond acting, Shreyas has ventured into film production and direction. He produced the Marathi film ‘Poster Boyz’ and made his directorial debut with its Hindi remake in 2017.
