Mumbai, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Chunky Pandey recently shared a humorous anecdote from his teenage years while on the set of the fifth season of the dance reality show “India’s Best Dancer.” He recounted how he donned a burqa to sneak into a theater to watch the famous actress Zeenat Aman’s film “Satyam Shivam Sundaram.”
While reminiscing about his youth, Chunky revealed that he was only 15 years old when he attempted multiple times to see the 1978 movie, which was rated for adults. He said, “Zeenat, you know, I first became interested in girls because of you, I swear. Your film ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ was an adult film. I was 15 at the time, and I tried to enter the cinema theater three or four times, but they always threw me out. Finally, I went in wearing a burqa.”
This amusing story came to light during an episode featuring Zeenat Aman as a special guest. The show’s choreographer and judge, Terence Lewis, also reflected on Zeenat’s impact on fashion, recalling her iconic yellow sunglasses and effortless style. Terence remarked, “Zeenat, I can’t forget those yellow sunglasses you wore. It was very simple yet striking, and you looked fantastic. I believe fashion is returning to that safe zone, with big sunglasses styled like yours.”
Zeenat also shared her memories of shooting “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” in Kathmandu, describing the vibrant atmosphere on set and the large crowds that gathered during the filming of the songs.
Originally directed by Raj Kapoor, “Satyam Shivam Sundaram: Love Sublime” starred Zeenat Aman and Shashi Kapoor in leading roles. Zeenat portrayed Roopa, a village woman whose beauty and appearance were pivotal in conveying themes of love and societal perspectives in the film. The movie is also remembered for its music, including the title track, which has become one of the most famous songs in Hindi cinema.
