Strict Security Clearance Ban for Drug-Related Individuals in Anantnag

Anantnag, April 28: In Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, significant directives have been issued to law enforcement and investigative agencies regarding drug networks. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has mandated that individuals found involved in drug-related cases will not be granted any security clearances.

The Anantnag police announced on social media platform X that narco operations (cordon and search operations) are underway at 20 identified hotspots in the district. Police are conducting raids on the homes of suspected drug lords. A survey of illegal properties is also being carried out for seizures under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Investigations into various NDPS cases have revealed that some active drug traffickers and syndicates may be directly linked to terrorist handlers. This situation is viewed not only as a threat to law and order but is also connected to national security concerns.

These criminal elements are not limited to illegal activities; they are spreading a web of addiction in society, leading youth towards destruction. The supply of narcotics and banned substances is disrupting the social fabric and creating an atmosphere of instability in the region.

In light of this serious situation, the SSP of Anantnag has issued strict instructions to all field units. The order clearly states that if any individual is found to be associated with drug trafficking or any drug syndicate during passport verification, government employment, contractor card issuance, or other character certification processes, they should be marked in red ink.

Additionally, it has been directed that no security clearance should be granted to anyone found linked to the drug trade or network. The administration asserts that this step is essential to curb the rising threat of drugs in the area and dismantle the network. The police’s focus is now on eradicating the drug supply chain and taking stringent action against those involved.

The Anantnag police have also made it clear that they are fully committed to the safety of society and the nation. Any individual or group found participating in such illegal activities will face severe consequences.
