Jaipur, June 24: Rajasthan Minister Kirori Lal Meena has written a letter to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, alleging that Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra and his relative Ramesh Chand Poonia fraudulently obtained OBC certificates and subsequently benefited from reservation policies. Meena has demanded a thorough investigation and the filing of an FIR regarding this matter.
In his letter, Meena claims that Dotasra’s son, Avinash, who was selected in the RAS-2016 examination, gained an unfair advantage due to irregularities in the selection process. He raised concerns about the interview scoring process, alleging that some candidates received disproportionately high marks despite merit-based concerns.
Meena further alleged that Ramesh Chand Poonia and his family members exploited fraudulent documents to benefit from OBC reservations. According to the minister, Poonia’s children were also selected for state services under the controversial certificate.
He stated that former members of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) acknowledged external pressures during recruitment processes. Meena expressed his willingness to provide evidence to investigative agencies if necessary.
Citing an example from the RAS-2016 examination, Meena pointed out that Garima Jindal, who scored the highest in the written exam with 425 marks, received only 25 marks in the interview. In contrast, he claimed that Avinash Dotasra scored 85 marks in the interview, aiding his final selection.
Meena alleged that despite a higher overall merit, Jindal was excluded from the final selection list due to her low interview score. He described this situation as detrimental to deserving candidates, particularly those from marginalized communities, and called for a fair and high-level investigation.
He urged the Chief Minister to ensure transparency and accountability in recruitment processes and to take immediate steps to prevent such irregularities in the future.
These allegations have sparked a new political controversy in Rajasthan. As of now, there has been no official response from Govind Singh Dotasra or the state government regarding these claims.
