New Delhi, June 5: The Ministry of AYUSH has taken to social media platform X to raise awareness about the benefits of Bhadrasana, a yoga pose that offers both physical and mental strength. The ministry emphasized that this asana is known for its numerous health advantages.
In their post, the Ministry stated, “Did you know that Bhadrasana provides strength to both your body and mind? This yoga pose not only strengthens the knees and hips but also alleviates abdominal tension. It is particularly beneficial for women’s health and during pregnancy. Let’s incorporate it into our daily routine, but those suffering from arthritis and sciatica should avoid practicing it.”
A video accompanying the post explained that Bhadrasana is also referred to as “The Auspicious Pose” in English. This asana promotes stability and strength for both body and mind. Regular practice can strengthen the bones in the knees and hips, potentially relieving knee pain.
The video further highlighted that Bhadrasana helps relieve any type of abdominal stress. It is considered beneficial for women experiencing menstrual cramps and other discomforts. Additionally, this pose is deemed useful for pregnant women.
However, the Ministry of AYUSH advised caution. According to them, individuals suffering from acute arthritis or sciatica should refrain from practicing Bhadrasana.
Previously, the Ministry shared another post discussing the importance of yoga and the benefits of Tadasana. They noted, “Yoga does not mean performing difficult poses. It is about simple and easy activities that keep our bodies flexible. As we age, these yoga poses should become a part of our daily lives. Tadasana, or Mountain Pose, is one of the essential beginner poses in yoga. It provides a gentle stretch to the entire body and improves posture.”
