New Delhi, September 2: BJP National Spokesperson RP Singh has targeted the opposition on various issues including the Punjab government, Jammu and Kashmir politics, the Disha Salian case, the SP-Congress alliance, actions against unrecognized madrasas in Uttarakhand, terrorism, GDP growth, and SIR. He made serious allegations regarding corruption linked to Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann.
RP Singh claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already submitted a report of around 200 pages to the Punjab Police concerning alleged corruption. The report mentions an official connected to the Chief Minister’s office, accused of taking money under the guise of transfer-posting and conducting activities through intermediaries. During a raid at an alleged middleman’s residence, approximately 2.1 million rupees were found, with reports of money being thrown outside. The ED has urged the Punjab Police to file an FIR in this matter but has approached the court due to inaction.
He also referred to another allegation involving Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s family, asserting that these matters should be investigated through legal processes.
Regarding the clash between the BJP and the National Conference in Srinagar, RP Singh stated that the Jammu and Kashmir government has failed to fulfill its promises regarding electricity supply. He noted that BJP workers protested against this failure.
On the Disha Salian case, he mentioned that it is now a subject of CBI investigation. Following a court order, the investigation will proceed, and action should be taken against anyone found guilty.
In response to Maulana Arshad Madani’s statement, RP Singh said that attempts are being made to create controversy over RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comments about Hindu society and Muslims. He also referenced Salman Khurshid’s remark about not associating terrorism with any religion. Commenting on terrorist activities, he stated that terrorism should not be linked to any religion, although recent incidents involved individuals of a specific religious identity.
On actress Swara’s comments, RP Singh connected her to ‘radical left’ ideology, asserting that her statements contradict Indian cultural values. He also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting he should address these issues, but doubted he would.
Regarding CPI leader Amarjeet Kaur’s alleged statement, RP Singh emphasized that such language is unacceptable in a democracy. He noted that elections and votes are the proper means to change a government, and using such language reflects political despair after failing in electoral politics.
On the proposal to appoint a CEO for the Ram Mandir Trust, RP Singh stated that having a professional oversee the trust’s administration could enhance transparency and accountability. The country should welcome such arrangements for better governance of the trust.
In the context of the SCO meeting, he mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India’s stance against terrorism clear. India has urged SCO member countries to unite against terrorism and take a firm stand against nations accused of harboring terrorist networks.
On the potential alliance between the Samajwadi Party and Congress in Uttar Pradesh, RP Singh noted that there have been previous disagreements over seat allocations. During the last by-elections, Congress demanded several seats, which Akhilesh Yadav did not accept. He asserted that whether an alliance occurs or not will not significantly impact BJP’s electoral prospects, claiming that victory in Uttar Pradesh will belong to the BJP and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Regarding actions against unrecognized madrasas in Uttarakhand, the BJP spokesperson stated that adherence to legal processes and recognition is essential for any educational institution’s operation. If an institution fails to meet necessary standards, the government can act according to the law.
On India’s GDP growth figures, RP Singh questioned Rahul Gandhi’s comments on economic policies. Available economic data indicates strength and continuous growth in India’s economy. He claimed that per capita income has increased, lifting many people above the poverty line. He also mentioned initiatives like ‘Drone Didi’ and ‘Lakshmi Didi.’ He criticized Rahul Gandhi for only focusing on government criticism, ignoring positive economic progress.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s questions about SIR, RP Singh stated that repeatedly questioning the electoral process is inappropriate. The Supreme Court has clarified the legality of the SIR process. Constant questioning of the Election Commission’s procedures could undermine public trust in democratic institutions.
On the CJP’s proposed march on September 5 being withdrawn, RP Singh stated that the government has fulfilled its promise. Following a Supreme Court order regarding students facing legal action, the march was canceled. The government has remained committed to its assurances.
