Lucknow, June 12: Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter has become the subject of controversial remarks on social media. SP spokesperson Ashutosh Verma has strongly condemned these comments and issued a warning that if such remarks do not cease, the party will respond accordingly.
Verma stated that the comments directed at Yadav’s daughter are highly reprehensible. He emphasized that politics should be conducted with dignity. He warned that if opponents choose to engage in low-level politics, the Samajwadi Party will retaliate, and they will not be able to protect themselves from the backlash.
He clarified that the SP does not target anyone’s family and that they have not been taught to do so. However, this does not mean that SP members do not know how to respond. They can protest from the streets to the assembly, but they do not wish to engage in such dirty politics.
Verma issued a stern warning, stating that if such comments continue, those responsible should be prepared for a response, and they should not claim that false accusations are being made against them.
In related comments, UP government minister OP Rajbhar remarked that if a serious investigation is conducted, it will reveal that SP workers are involved. He condemned the vulgar remarks and called for action against those responsible.
Rajbhar noted that while ideological differences in politics are acceptable, discussions should never involve someone’s sister or daughter in such a manner.
Addressing the controversy surrounding Meenakshi Natarajan’s disqualification, Verma stated that the Congress party must also take some responsibility. He criticized them for not filling out necessary forms while contesting against parties like the BJP, suggesting that they should have been more cautious given that the Election Commission was not on their side.
Verma also targeted the NITI Aayog meeting, claiming it lacks both policy and intent. He held the NITI Aayog responsible for the deteriorating economic situation, stating that their policies have led to a decline in the value of the rupee, strained relations with neighboring countries, and uncontrolled inflation.
