Dubai, July 28: After an unbeaten century against Sri Lanka, Pakistani batter Sidra Amin has ascended to the 9th position in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. The Sri Lankan players also benefited in the rankings due to their impressive performances in the initial matches of the ICC Women’s Championship Series.
Sidra Amin scored 57 runs in the first ODI and followed it up with a remarkable unbeaten 100 runs in the next match, marking her seventh century in ODIs. This performance allowed her to gain one spot in the rankings. Meanwhile, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has dropped one position to 10th place.
Pakistani opener Gul Firoza also made significant strides in the rankings, climbing 18 places to reach 54th after contributing notably during the series.
On the other hand, Sri Lankan batters saw substantial improvements as well. Vishmi Gunaratne, who played a match-winning innings of 123 runs in the second ODI against Pakistan, jumped 16 places to secure the 39th position in the batting rankings.
Following their outstanding performances, several of her teammates also improved their rankings. Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up three spots to 17th, while Nilakshika Silva climbed two places to 24th. Kavisha Dilhari also made a five-place jump to reach 38th in the ODI batting rankings.
Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu, who contributed in both batting and bowling during the series, strengthened her position in the all-rounder rankings, moving up one spot to 8th. She also climbed three places to reach 32nd in the bowlers’ rankings.
Dilhari’s all-round performance was reflected in multiple lists. The 24-year-old jumped nine places in the ODI bowlers’ rankings to jointly secure the 36th position and rose two spots to 14th in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
The latest rankings also benefited Pakistan’s spin department. Off-spinner Umm-e-Hani climbed 11 places to reach 53rd among ODI bowlers, while her teammate Syeda Arub Shah also gained 11 spots, securing a joint 63rd position.
