Moti Hari, March 30: The police in Motihari, Bihar, have revealed the shocking details surrounding the brutal murder of five-year-old Anshika Kumari, which occurred in the Heerapatti village of the Chiraiya police station area.
On March 29, police arrested a 20-year-old woman who confessed to the crime. The revelation has left the local community in disbelief. Reports indicate that the young woman, driven by jealousy and frustration over her relationship with her boyfriend, allegedly killed the innocent child by slitting her throat with a knife.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Uday Shankar disclosed that the investigation was propelled by technical analysis. Internet data sharing and a viral audio clip were crucial in identifying the suspect. Anshika went missing from her home on March 20. Following a complaint from her family, police registered a case. Tragically, her decapitated body was discovered in a nearby field two days later, on March 22.
A viral audio clip featuring the victim’s voice led police to conduct a technical investigation, revealing that the audio was shared from a mobile device that had used another phone’s internet data. This clue directed the investigation toward the suspect’s residence.
The accused had been in a relationship with a local man named Nitish Kumar since 2024. Tensions escalated when she had a dispute with Nitish’s grandfather, leading to violent confrontations. In an act of revenge, she allegedly set fire to his grandfather and committed arson in several locations within the village.
The young woman suspected that Anshika’s mother was inciting her family against her and reporting her actions. The Deputy Superintendent claimed that the obsessed lover had orchestrated nearly 18 criminal incidents, including murder and arson, in her quest for revenge. However, she did not confront the situation directly.
Authorities recovered two knives, two mobile SIM cards, and blood-stained clothing from the suspect. It was reported that she had ordered the knife from Flipkart, which she used in the heinous act.
