Shocking Incident in Mumbai: Customer Bites Off Shopkeepers Finger Over Bill Dispute

Mumbai, March 31: A minor billing dispute in Malad East escalated into a horrifying incident that left witnesses in shock. A customer, who visited a local vada pav shop to enjoy snacks, bit off the shopkeeper’s finger during an argument over the bill.

The incident occurred after the customer had finished his meal and made an online payment. However, a disagreement arose when the shopkeeper’s son requested confirmation of the payment. This led to an argument, prompting shopkeeper Ranjit Harivansh Singh to intervene. Unfortunately, this only fueled the customer’s anger, resulting in a violent attack.

According to police reports, the altercation took place around 8:30 PM near Shivaji Chowk. Ranjit explained that after the customer paid for his samosas and cutlets, he became irate when asked to confirm the payment. Despite Ranjit’s attempts to calm him down, the situation quickly deteriorated.

In a shocking turn of events, the customer attacked Ranjit, biting off the tip of his right middle finger. The assailant also inflicted serious injuries by biting two fingers on Ranjit’s left hand.

Employees at the shop and Ranjit’s son managed to subdue the attacker. Ranjit was rushed to KEM Hospital in Parel, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

The police have identified the suspect as Lakshmidhar Mangal Malik and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
