Mumbai, August 6: In a tragic incident in Jharkhand, a young man has been accused of murdering his wife and mother-in-law in the village of Jhenagaria, located in the Littipada police station area. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene, prompting police to conduct extensive searches for his apprehension.
According to police reports, the accused, Abras Ansari, had returned to his village on Wednesday after working in another state. Late that night, a dispute arose between him and his wife, Gulchehra Bibi (approximately 21-22 years old), along with her mother, Meenja Bibi (around 45-50 years old). It is alleged that during the argument, he violently attacked both women with a sharp weapon, resulting in their immediate deaths due to severe injuries.
The couple’s seven-year-old daughter, who was present at the scene, informed the police that her father had quarreled with her mother and grandmother before launching the attack. After the incident, the child began to cry and scream, alerting nearby villagers who rushed to the house, but by then, the suspect had already escaped.
Upon receiving the report, Littipada police station chief Vivek Kumar arrived at the scene with a police team. The bodies were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination at Pakur Sadar Hospital on Thursday. Evidence was collected from the site, and an investigation into the case has commenced.
Pakur’s Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Kumar Gaurav also inspected the scene. He stated that initial investigations indicate the motive was a domestic dispute. However, police are exploring all angles of the case. Continuous raids are being conducted at potential hideouts to capture the suspect, who is believed to be working in Kolkata. Authorities are hopeful for his swift arrest.
