Mumbai, August 19: A shocking incident has emerged from the Washim district of Maharashtra, where the bodies of a young man and woman were discovered in Morna Lake, located in the Gokasavangi area of Malegaon taluka. The two had been missing since August 14, prompting their families to file a missing persons report at the Malegaon police station.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Mahadev Nimbalakar and 19-year-old Nikita Kamble, both residents of Gokasavangi village. Initial reports indicate that some individuals fishing in the lake stumbled upon their bodies and promptly notified the police.
Currently, the cause of death remains unclear, with investigators yet to determine whether it was a homicide or suicide. The exact reason for their deaths is expected to be revealed following the post-mortem report and ongoing police investigations. The Malegaon police have initiated a thorough inquiry into the case.
In a related note, the Sangli district of Maharashtra has been shaken by a recent double murder that has created a climate of fear in the area. The dispute originated in the Kupwad locality over neighbors throwing garbage at each other’s doorsteps. The altercation escalated, leading to Farid Abdul Sheikh allegedly attacking Manisha Mohan Kesharkar and her husband, Mohan Kesharkar.
Manisha Kesharkar lost her life in the attack, while her husband, who was critically injured, was receiving treatment at Miraj Government Hospital. Unfortunately, Mohan Kesharkar also succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Following the incident, a large crowd of relatives and local citizens gathered at Miraj Government Hospital. There is a palpable sense of anger in the community, with relatives demanding that the case be fast-tracked in court and that the perpetrator receive the death penalty.
