Gwalior, June 1: In a disturbing case from Bhind, police have uncovered a horrific incident involving the abduction, gang rape, and murder of a 15-year-old girl. Her charred body was discovered on a hillside. Authorities announced the arrest of three suspects on Monday.
The victim’s family filed a missing person report at the Mau police station on May 28 after she failed to return home. They identified a local resident, Ramu Gurjar, as a suspect due to his alleged relationship with the girl.
Based on this complaint, teams from Gwalior and Mau police jointly apprehended Ramu on Monday. During initial questioning, Ramu misled investigators, but he later confessed after being shown call records. He revealed that on May 28, he took the girl to Gwalior on a motorcycle with his accomplice, Arun.
According to police, the two men took the minor to a secluded spot above the Navagraha temple in the Janakganj police station area, where they gang-raped her. When she attempted to resist and return home, they assaulted her.
Investigations revealed that Ramu Gurjar allegedly attempted to sell the girl to Arun for 50,000 rupees. When the victim protested and tried to scream, the assailants strangled her to death and concealed her body in the bushes.
On May 29, Ramu and Arun returned with Gaurav Kushwaha to destroy evidence. They doused the body in petrol and set it ablaze before fleeing the scene.
CSP (Lashkar) Kiran Ahirwar confirmed that the partially burned and mutilated remains of the victim were recovered on June 1, following information provided by Ramu Gurjar.
