
Badlapur, March 7: A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Badlapur (East), Maharashtra, where a 36-year-old son attempted to choke his mother to death. The altercation stemmed from suspicions regarding the deletion of a mobile recording of a conversation with his wife, escalating a domestic dispute into violence. The Ulhasnagar Crime Branch arrested the accused three days later.
According to police reports, the victim’s husband, Nand Narayan Trader, a resident of Gokul Society B Wing, Room No. 2010, Anand Nagar, Gavdevi, Badlapur, filed a complaint at the Badlapur East police station. The incident occurred three days ago around 2 AM in Room No. 105 of Saujanya Apartment, Kulgaon, Badlapur East, while the complainant and his minor grandson were asleep in the hall.
The accused, Milind Narayan Trader (36), a businessman, suddenly entered the room. He woke his mother and accused her of deleting the recording of his conversation with his wife, leading to a heated argument. As the argument escalated, he verbally abused her and slapped her in the face.
Following this, he pushed the complainant onto the bed, stuffed a vest into his mouth, and attempted to choke his mother with one hand. The victim managed to struggle and call for help, prompting the accused to flee the scene.
After the incident, the victim’s family promptly lodged a complaint at the Badlapur East police station. Police registered a case under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (assault), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), and other related sections.
For three days, the accused Milind evaded capture. In pursuit of him, police set up a trap based on a tip-off received by the Ulhasnagar Crime Branch. Under the leadership of Constable Ramdas Ugle, the team, including Shrirang Gosavi, Mangesh Jadhav, Chandrakant Sawant, and Ritesh Wanjari, acted swiftly and ultimately apprehended the accused.
The police have sent the accused into judicial custody. The Badlapur East police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the case, which includes examining the mobile recording, ongoing family disputes, and the mental state of the accused.
