Patna, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed a significant response to the flooding situation in Bihar. On September 16, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit the state to conduct both aerial and ground surveys of the affected areas.
A team of senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will accompany Chouhan during this critical visit. The central government has reiterated its commitment to standing firmly with the farmers and residents of Bihar during this crisis.
Chouhan’s itinerary begins with his arrival in Patna from Bhopal. At 10:30 AM, he will take a helicopter from Patna State Hangar to survey the flood-affected regions of Dighwara and Maner. Following this, he will reach the Hajipur police line helipad at 11 AM, where he will travel by road to the villages of Terasiya and Sarai Pur. There, he plans to inspect the damage to crops firsthand and engage directly with farmers to understand their challenges.
After assessing the flood conditions, Chouhan will head to the Chief Minister‘s Secretariat in Patna at approximately 12:15 PM. He will hold a high-level review meeting with Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and senior officials to discuss disaster management, relief efforts, and assistance for farmers.
In the afternoon, he will depart Patna around 1:30 PM and arrive at Nawab Gadhi in Munger by 2:15 PM, where he will meet flood victims at a relief camp and evaluate the quality of relief efforts. He will then inspect the Koji Karaiya dam in Naugachia, traveling by road through Bhagalpur. In the evening, he plans to visit another relief camp at Bhagalpur Polytechnic College to meet affected families. Chouhan will spend the night at the Bhagalpur State Guest House and will return to Patna the following morning after meeting with more impacted residents.
