Kanpur, June 18: Shivpal Singh Yadav, the National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, visited Kanpur on Wednesday. During a media interaction, he raised concerns about the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple and questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and temple management regarding the irregularities. He stated that any misconduct or theft associated with the temple of Lord Ram is a serious moral failing.
Yadav accused BJP leaders of misleading the public and evading accountability when the truth comes to light. He claimed that this incident exemplifies the corruption prevalent under the BJP’s rule. The theft from the Ram Temple is a grave issue, and if large-scale discrepancies are found, a fair investigation should be conducted. He also demanded scrutiny of the temple management and those responsible for the situation.
Responding to remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya about the Samajwadi Party, Yadav asserted that BJP leaders are feeling their political ground slipping, prompting such statements. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party is gaining strength and receiving support from the public in the state.
Yadav emphasized that the Samajwadi Party has previously defeated Keshav Prasad Maurya politically. He alleged that Maurya makes such statements merely to maintain his political relevance and boost his visibility. He assured that if elections were to occur again, the Samajwadi Party would work to defeat him.
The party leader expressed confidence that the public in the state is discontent with BJP policies, and the upcoming elections would benefit the Samajwadi Party. He noted that the party’s organization is continuously strengthening, with activists working diligently among the people.
It is noteworthy that Yadav visited the residence of senior party worker Akeel Khan in the Gadiyana area of Kanpur to inquire about his well-being. He spent about 20 minutes there, during which many party officials and workers were present.
