Jaipur, July 28: Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Avinash Gehlot has launched a verbal attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the issue of paper leaks. He accused the Congress party of failing to take responsibility for the paper leak incidents that occurred during their governance. Gehlot claimed that under Ashok Gehlot’s administration, there were 19 instances of paper leaks in the state, yet neither Rahul Gandhi nor the top leadership of Congress spoke a word about it at that time.
In an interview, Avinash Gehlot praised former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a serious and responsible leader who introduced several innovations in the education sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He noted that changes were made to certain historical subjects in the new education system, which Congress opposed, as some chapters taught during Congress-led governments were removed.
Gehlot stated that Dharmendra Pradhan demonstrated moral responsibility by resigning from his position to prevent any negative message to students and youth. This move clarified the government’s commitment to making the examination system transparent and preventing future incidents of paper leaks. As a senior leader emerging from student politics, Pradhan showcased accountability, which was welcomed by MPs of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The Cabinet Minister questioned Rahul Gandhi, asking why he or the Congress leadership did not respond when 19 paper leaks occurred during the Congress government in Rajasthan. He pointed out that wherever Congress has been in power, paper leak incidents have surfaced, yet the party leadership has never accepted responsibility. Gehlot alleged that during Congress’s rule, there was neither effective action taken against paper leaks nor strict measures against the culprits. The silence of Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and other senior Congress leaders reveals the party’s double standards to the public.
Avinash Gehlot emphasized that the current BJP government has implemented strict laws to make the examination system transparent and curb the paper leak mafia. The government’s priority is to protect the interests of students and maintain the credibility of recruitment examinations. The BJP’s approach is based on accountability, and if any serious issue arises, the party does not shy away from taking responsibility. The state government’s objective is to ensure that incidents of paper leaks do not recur in the future, thereby strengthening the youth’s trust in the examination system.
