
Patna, March 31: Newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Shivesh Kumar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and BJP National President Nitin Naveen. He feels fortunate to receive guidance from such experienced leaders.
In a conversation in Patna, Shivesh Kumar commented on Nitish Kumar’s resignation from the Legislative Council, stating that Kumar is a leader of national stature. Having previously served as the Union Railway Minister, Kumar has significantly contributed to the development of railways. He credited Kumar for guiding Bihar from a state of chaos to a path of development, calling this moment emotional for the people of Bihar.
Shivesh Kumar emphasized the honor of joining the Rajya Sabha with Nitin Naveen and Nitish Kumar. He noted that Kumar’s resignation has not only moved party leaders but has also brought tears to the eyes of women in Bihar. Kumar has played a crucial role in empowering women, helping them transition from domestic roles to becoming self-reliant through employment opportunities.
He mentioned that he will take the oath as a Rajya Sabha MP on April 10 and will travel to Delhi on April 8.
Regarding the next Chief Minister of Bihar, Shivesh Kumar stated that it is premature to make predictions, as the NDA’s top leadership will decide. He highlighted that five parties are part of the NDA in Bihar, and discussions will take place among the leaders to determine the next CM. He expressed confidence that, like other states, the NDA will perform well under the new leadership in Bihar.
On the demand from JDU to appoint Nishant Kumar as CM, he said a meeting in Delhi will clarify the situation.
Commenting on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about Naxalism, Shivesh Kumar reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s vision to develop India by 2047, noting that efforts have been made to dismantle the ideology of Naxalism under Modi’s leadership.
