Mumbai, June 7: Actor and host Shekhar Suman is making headlines with his recent web series, “The Pyramid Scheme.” During the show’s promotion, he openly discussed the current state of society. He pointed out that due to illiteracy, rising population, ineffective leadership, and systemic flaws, people are repeatedly falling victim to false promises and scams.
In an interview, Suman stated, “A significant reason for these issues is the population, leadership, system, and literacy levels. Many people fail to understand critical matters due to a lack of education. Some individuals make themselves foolish, while those looking to deceive are always ready.”
Suman emphasized that education and awareness are the best ways to avoid such schemes. He urged people not to fall for any easy-money proposals without careful consideration.
He expressed concern over the increasing population and systemic shortcomings, asserting that until the education level improves, people will continue to be misled.
Targeting schemes that promise quick wealth, he remarked, “Those who claim they can make you rich overnight—catch them first and give them a beating.”
Suman added that if earning money were that easy, the entire world would be wealthy, and no one would be poor. He clearly labeled such schemes as scams. He also shared a personal experience from 2000 when someone attempted to explain a similar scheme to him. Initially appealing, it raised his suspicions, leading him to expose the scam in time.
“The Pyramid Scheme” series is based on the world of pyramid schemes, where individuals get trapped in the pursuit of quick money. Alongside Shekhar Suman, the cast includes Ranveer Shorey, Shreyansh Pandey, Paramveer Cheema, Anjan Srivastava, Alfiya Jafri, Ashish Raghav, Akhilendra Mishra, Smita Bansal, and many others.
Produced by The Viral Fever, the series is directed by Shreyansh Pandey and Ashish R. Shukla, and it is currently streaming on Prime Video.
