Mumbai, August 24: The film ‘Birds in the Dark’ (Haneere De Panchi), directed by Shashank Walia, is set to premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival. On Monday, director Hansal Mehta shared his excitement about the film.
Mehta posted several images from the film on Instagram, expressing his joy and discussing his connection to the project. He revealed how the film first came to him.
He wrote, “Last year, Mauli Singh and Ankur Pathak approached us with a film. We had no idea it would turn out to be so special until we watched the first 40 minutes on Shashank’s laptop in Chandigarh. I was amazed and proud. ‘Birds in the Dark’ will premiere at the Busan International Film Festival.”
The director praised cinematographer Shashank Walia, stating, “Every frame of Shashank Walia’s Punjabi film ‘Black and White’ tells a thousand stories in its silence. It is a quiet film about justice, love, resistance, and gender. A gentle reflection on love that gives you something more each time you watch it. Sahil and I are proud to work on this with Reema Kaur as producers, who also edited this remarkable film. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew who transformed this film into a living, breathing piece of art.”
