Mumbai, August 24: Content creator and model Asim Riaz has taken to social media to address comments made by his ex-girlfriend, Himanshi Khurana, during a podcast. Riaz clarified that he has never asked anyone to change their religion.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Asim put an end to the rumors and claimed that he was the one who inspired Himanshi to focus on fitness. He wrote, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. The truth is, I motivated her towards fitness. Everyone knew how she looked before she met me.”
Asim emphasized the need to stop using religion as a weapon. He stated, “Religion is a very sensitive topic. Making someone’s personal matters a reason for spreading hate is childish. It shows how low you can go for attention. Regarding my career, I have never needed anyone’s help to build it, nor does anyone need to take credit for it when they contributed nothing.”
He further commented on the issue of wealth, saying, “Who has more money and who has less? If you really want to know, bank statements will reveal the truth. However, money is never a measure of a person’s character. Character shows how low you are willing to stoop for attention or views.”
Asim also advised Himanshi to stop gossiping about past relationships and personal life years later, as it reflects poorly on the person sharing such information.
Without naming Paras Chhabra, he remarked, “To that man sitting behind the microphone with a potbelly, who has made gossip his profession, I suggest you spend less time talking about others’ lives and more time in the gym.”
This post from Asim Riaz came a few days after Paras Chhabra’s podcast, where Himanshi Khurana spoke candidly about her past relationship without mentioning Asim’s name. During the conversation, she revealed how religious differences impacted their relationship and alleged that her then-partner had discussed religion with her, wanting her to understand and adopt it. She expressed her reluctance, believing that doing so would betray her own faith.
Himanshi also recalled a time when she wondered if she would be ‘cremated’ or ‘buried’ if she converted to another religion.
For context, Himanshi and Asim met during ‘Bigg Boss 13,’ where their friendship gradually evolved into a romantic relationship. After Himanshi returned to the reality show, Asim famously proposed to her on one knee.
The couple continued their relationship after the show for nearly four years. In December 2023, they announced their separation, citing religious differences as a reason for their breakup.
