Mumbai, August 23: Dr. Madhu Chopra, mother of actress Priyanka Chopra, emotionally remembered her late husband, Dr. Ashok Chopra, on his birthday this Sunday. She shared an old video on social media, wishing him a “heavenly birthday.”
Dr. Madhu Chopra posted a video on her official Instagram account, featuring many cherished family moments with Dr. Ashok Chopra. The video also included appearances by their daughter Priyanka and son Siddharth.
In her post, she wrote, “Happy heavenly birthday to my husband, my love, and that part of my heart that I carry with me every day. I wish I could celebrate your birthday here, but I hope you know how much you are loved, missed, and will always be remembered.”
Notably, Priyanka Chopra’s father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, passed away on June 10, 2013, in Mumbai after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 62. He served as a doctor and surgeon in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Priyanka often remembers her late father, referring to him as her “biggest cheerleader.” She has even gotten a tattoo on her wrist that reads “Daddy’s Little Girl” in his memory.
Recently, Priyanka shared a touching photo of her four-year-old daughter, Malti Marie, on social media. In the picture, Malti is seen standing with her hands folded in front of a photo of her grandfather, Dr. Ashok Chopra. Sadly, Malti never had the chance to meet him, as he passed away before her birth.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will star as the lead actress in S.S. Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film ‘Varanasi.’ In this film, she will portray the role of Mandakini, a daring historian, alongside Mahesh Babu.
