Patna, June 17: Shambhavi Chaudhary, a Member of Parliament from the Lok Janshakti Party (R), has outrightly rejected Mamata Banerjee’s request for a by-election in Bhawanipur.
In a conversation with reporters on Wednesday, Chaudhary emphasized the importance of accepting the public mandate in a democratic system. She stated that Banerjee’s reaction indicates she is unsettled by her defeat. Challenging such a mandate will yield no benefits. A true leader must accept the people’s decision.
Additionally, Chaudhary commented on the upcoming meeting between Prime Minister Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump. She believes this meeting will be productive, with discussions likely to cover various issues, particularly trade. She noted that wherever Prime Minister Modi goes, he brings positive outcomes for India. Under his leadership, India is experiencing rapid development and is recognized among the fastest-growing economies globally. She expressed optimism about India’s positive position on the global front in the coming days.
Chaudhary also responded to a statement made by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who claimed that all criminals in Bihar would have to flee to Nepal, leaving them with no other option. She affirmed that under Samrat Chaudhary’s leadership, efforts are being made to ensure law and order in the state.
According to her, both former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and current Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary are committed to a zero-tolerance policy against crime. Criminals cannot escape justice. Chaudhary welcomed the Chief Minister’s remarks regarding criminals.
Moreover, she criticized opposition parties, accusing them of attempting to lower the political discourse. She stated that opposition leaders often resort to negativity. Members of Parliament and legislators join parties at their discretion, and any leader wishing to align with a party or ideology must do so within the constitutional framework.
