New Delhi, March 23: BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala has sharply criticized the opposition, claiming there is a “liar gang” in the country that deliberately politicizes India’s foreign policy.
In a recent conversation, Poonawala stated that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the Parliament and the nation through the Lok Sabha, discussing India’s role in the ongoing West Asia crisis, the opposition is merely focused on instilling fear. He emphasized that the government is working to ensure energy security and prevent shortages of fertilizers for farmers.
Poonawala pointed out that the world is praising India’s robust foreign policy, noting that many believe India can play a crucial role in mediating conflicts. He highlighted India’s ability to engage with both Iran and Israel, and the ongoing shipments from Hormuz, showcasing the country’s diplomatic strength. In contrast, he accused the opposition of engaging in petty politics, spreading panic over LPG shortages, despite no actual scarcity in India. He remarked that the opposition has previously resorted to similar tactics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further asserted that by opposing PM Modi, the opposition is essentially opposing the nation itself, even failing to align with statements from their own leaders, such as Shashi Tharoor.
Poonawala praised PM Modi as a political powerhouse, noting his dedication and continuous service without breaks, unlike leaders from other parties who often take vacations. He mentioned Modi’s numerous achievements and records set during his tenure.
Regarding the alliance between Owaisi and Humayun Kabir in the Bengal assembly elections, Poonawala described it as a natural partnership, suggesting it represents a form of appeasement politics. He criticized the TMC government for its alleged oppression of Hindus and the disrespect shown towards Hindu deities. He stated that the BJP is committed to preserving Bengal’s culture and fighting for nationalism.
He accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of forgetting her political promises and claimed that constitutional institutions face oppression when they operate in Bengal. He criticized the TMC’s threats regarding the CAA-NRC, asserting that they resort to intimidation tactics. Poonawala concluded by expressing confidence that the people of Bengal will work towards a TMC-free state in the upcoming elections.
