New Delhi, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their military operations against Hamas, accusing the group of violating ceasefire agreements. This latest escalation follows an incident in southern Lebanon, where the IDF reported attempts by Hezbollah to breach agreements.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the IDF detailed an encounter in the “Yellow Line” area of northern Gaza. They claimed that an engineering vehicle from the IDF was targeted by Hamas using explosive devices. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this incident.
In retaliation, the IDF launched strikes on Hamas military infrastructure, which they allege has been used to conduct attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. The IDF’s actions come just a day after they escalated their operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, citing violations of agreements.
The IDF reported that Hezbollah fighters attempted to attack their troops with drones in the security zone of southern Lebanon. In response, IDF soldiers fired back, successfully downing one drone without any reported injuries among their ranks. Following this, the IDF has been conducting strikes in southern Lebanon.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon resulted in four fatalities and left 20 others injured. Reports from the Xinhua news agency corroborate this information, indicating that the attacks occurred in several areas of southern Lebanon on Sunday morning.
The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military actions, raising concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.
