New Delhi, August 30: Pradeep Kumar Verma, a Member of Parliament and National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has expressed support for remarks made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in New York. Verma stated that the secular atmosphere in India is largely due to the Hindu community, which, despite being the majority, respects all religions and sects, fostering inclusivity.
Verma emphasized, “The secular environment in India is primarily because of the Hindu society. As the majority, Hindus have always created a society that embraces everyone and respects all religions and sects equally.”
He further noted that Mohan Bhagwat embodies this sentiment. The feelings expressed by Bhagwat resonate with the spirit that Indians have proclaimed globally over time. He drew parallels to Swami Vivekananda’s statements from 1893, asserting that Bhagwat echoes the same truths today. India’s culture has historically been one that accepts all truths and brings everyone together.
On another note, Verma commented on Prime Minister Modi receiving the highest honor from Uzbekistan, stating, “In recent times, Prime Minister Modi has emerged as one of the world’s most popular leaders. Since he became Prime Minister in 2014, there has been a renewed energy regarding his leadership globally.”
He added that Modi’s role in addressing various global issues and the trust people have placed in him is unprecedented, as recognized worldwide. Verma pointed out that Modi has been honored by various countries, including Uzbekistan, which awarded him its highest accolade. He highlighted a significant agreement between the two nations concerning India’s energy needs, which is expected to be beneficial in meeting future energy demands.
