Beijing, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : A devastating landslide struck the China-Nepal border on August 26, prompting a swift response from both nations. In recent days, Chinese experts and rescue personnel have arrived in the affected areas of Nepal, working alongside their Nepalese counterparts to overcome numerous challenges and embody a spirit of shared community.
On August 29, five Chinese tunnel rescue specialists traveled to Nepal to assist with search and rescue operations. The following day, two Y-20 transport aircraft from China landed at Kathmandu International Airport, carrying relief supplies and four additional tunnel rescue experts. By September 1, a second batch of emergency assistance, along with five teams of DNA identification specialists, also arrived from China.
In the wake of this catastrophic event, both countries have demonstrated solidarity, helping each other navigate through these trying times. Nepalese President Ram Chandra Paudel expressed on social media, “In this time of national mourning, China’s timely support once again reflects the unbreakable friendship between our two nations.”
Pushpa Raj Pradhan, editor of Nepal’s weekly ‘People’s Review,’ remarked, “A true friend stands by you in difficult times. Genuine friendship is not just reflected in diplomatic statements but also in the actions taken during challenging periods.”
