Sanjay Singh Questions Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, May 30: Sanjay Singh, a Rajya Sabha member from the Aam Aadmi Party, has raised concerns regarding law and order in Uttar Pradesh. He criticized the central government for issues such as the electricity crisis, construction accidents, the NEET UG exam, and deaths caused by toxic alcohol in Maharashtra.

Singh pointed out that recent NCRB data clearly indicates a rise in cases of Dalit oppression, rape, and other crimes in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that while the state government makes various claims, the reality on the ground is starkly different.

Regarding the electricity crisis, Singh highlighted the dire situation in the state. He referenced an incident in Barabanki where power outages forced people to sleep on the roadside, leading to a tragic accident where a vehicle ran over them. He criticized the energy minister, stating that when power cuts are discussed, the minister merely responds with “Jai Shri Ram,” evading responsibility.

Expressing sorrow over the recent collapse of a construction slab in Hamirpur, Singh claimed that corruption is rampant in the state. He alleged that significant scams are occurring in projects like expressways, flyovers, and the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Singh also questioned the integrity of the NEET UG exam, calling it shameful that the country cannot conduct the examination honestly.

On the issue of toxic alcohol deaths in Maharashtra, he criticized the BJP government, noting that even in areas where alcohol prohibition is enforced, people are still dying from poisonous liquor. He urged the Prime Minister to address this issue.
