New Delhi, July 22: RML Hospital announced on Wednesday that a 21-year-old woman, seriously injured during a protest in the capital, has been successfully removed from ventilator support. She was receiving treatment at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
The hospital stated that the patient’s condition has significantly improved, allowing for the removal of the ventilator.
In a statement, the hospital said, “She has been successfully taken off the ventilator and is now breathing independently. She is conscious and responding appropriately to instructions. Her MRI results for the brain and spine are normal.”
According to the hospital, the decision to remove ventilator support was made after an encouraging improvement in her condition.
The statement further noted that her clinical status has been consistently improving since treatment began, and she is receiving comprehensive medical care under close supervision from the medical team.
The hospital confirmed that the woman is receiving necessary treatment and continuous monitoring.
She was injured on Monday during a protest by the ‘Cockroach People’s Party’ (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. Reports indicate that she sustained injuries after colliding with barricades during police action against the demonstrators.
Chaos erupted during the CJP’s ‘March to Parliament’ from Jantar Mantar. Protesters demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged discrepancies in examinations, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy.
Delhi Police reported that over 118 officers and around 60 protesters were injured during the clashes. Additionally, more than 20 police vehicles were damaged.
