Samay Raina Set to Make a Comeback with Still Alive Stand-Up Special

Mumbai, April 6: Stand-up comedian Samay Raina is ready to return to the spotlight with his new stand-up special, ‘Still Alive.’ The trailer for this special was released on Sunday, and the full performance will premiere on YouTube on April 7.

According to reports, ‘Still Alive’ presents Raina’s entire journey without any filters. This special combines observational comedy with his personal experiences, struggles, and an exploration of public life. It is being described as his most honest and introspective work to date.

Samay Raina stated about the special, “My sole purpose is to make people laugh and provide them with a good time. That purpose remains unchanged.”

‘Still Alive’ is not just a comedy special; it narrates the story of Raina’s struggles, controversies, and comeback over the past year. In February 2025, his popular YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’ became embroiled in a major controversy. Following a comment made in a members-only episode, complaints were filed in several states, the National Commission for Women issued summons, and the Maharashtra Cyber Cell initiated an investigation. The matter escalated to the Supreme Court, sparking nationwide discussions on digital content and freedom of expression.

Reports indicate that, in light of the controversy, all episodes of the show were removed from YouTube, Raina canceled his tour, and he cooperated fully with the investigating agencies. However, during this period, Raina remained silent and did not make any public statements. His comeback came in August 2025 when he launched the ‘Still Alive and Unfiltered India Tour.’ The tour kicked off in Bengaluru, where over 40,000 tickets sold out within an hour.

Moreover, shows at major venues, including Bharat Mandapam and Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, were sold out. The tour also had international legs, successfully reaching Europe, Australia, and North America. It concluded at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York, where Samay Raina became one of the youngest Indian comedians to perform at this prestigious venue.
