Mumbai, August 26: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is facing increasing legal challenges. The Chandigarh District Court has issued a notice to Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, the ‘Being Human Foundation,’ and directors of ‘Style Coscent Jewelry Private Limited.’ This notice pertains to a fraud complaint related to the proposed ‘Being Human Jewelry Showroom’ in Mani Majra.
The case, registered as COMI/9/2023, Arun Gupta vs. Style Coscent Jewelry Private Limited, was filed by local businessman Arun Gupta. The court has instructed all parties to appear on October 5.
According to the notice, Salman Khan, residing at 3 Galaxy Apartments, BJ Road, Bandstand, Bandra West, Mumbai, along with his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, residing at 6 Ashwini Pali Mala Road, Bandra West, and directors Santosh Srivastava and Prasad Bindu Madhav Kapade of Style Coscent Jewelry Private Limited, must present themselves in court.
The notice states that the complainant has filed a grievance against them, necessitating this notice under Section 223 of the BNS Act before the court takes cognizance of the matter. It is essential for them to appear before the court to provide clarification. They are required to be present in person or through a lawyer on the specified date of October 5, 2026, at 10 AM.
The case revolves around allegations of fraud against Arun Gupta concerning the proposed Being Human Jewelry Showroom. Gupta claims he was deceived under the guise of the showroom. However, the court has only issued a notice at this stage, and further cognizance is pending.
The previous hearing took place on August 4, after which the court issued this notice on August 24. The next hearing is scheduled for October 5, where Salman Khan and others will have the opportunity to present their side.
It is noteworthy that the Being Human Foundation is Salman Khan’s charity brand, which supports various charitable initiatives through clothing, jewelry, and other products.
