
New Delhi, February 10: Former Indian cricket team captain and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar met with President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday. During this meeting, he extended an invitation to the President for his son Arjun Tendulkar’s wedding.
Sachin shared a family photo with the President on X, writing, “Last February, Honorable President Droupadi Murmu hosted us at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Today, as we invited her to Arjun and Sania’s wedding, we reminisced about those lovely memories. Thank you for your good wishes, Madam President.”
In addition to President Murmu, Sachin also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, inviting them to the wedding. He posted pictures of these meetings on social media.
Sharing a photo with Prime Minister Modi, Sachin expressed, “We were delighted to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Arjun and Sania’s wedding. The Prime Minister blessed the young couple and offered great advice. Thank you for that.”
In a post with Home Minister Amit Shah, Sachin wrote, “We have invited Home Minister Amit Shah to Arjun and Sania’s wedding. Thank you for welcoming our family with such warmth; we truly appreciate your good wishes.”
Sachin was accompanied by his wife Anjali, son Arjun, daughter Sara, and future daughter-in-law Sania Chandok while inviting the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Rahul Gandhi to the wedding.
Twenty-six-year-old left-arm pacer Arjun got engaged to Sania Chandok, granddaughter of businessman Ravi Ghai, last August.
Sania comes from a prominent and wealthy family in Mumbai. She works as a partner and director at Mr. Paws Pet Spa and Store LLP. The Ghai family has a significant presence in the hospitality and food industry, owning the Intercontinental Hotel and the popular ice cream brand, Brooklyn Creamery.
Arjun Tendulkar, a left-arm medium-fast bowler and left-handed batsman, plays domestic cricket as an all-rounder for Goa. He has taken 48 wickets and scored 620 runs in 22 first-class matches. Additionally, he has 25 wickets and 155 runs in 23 List A matches.
Arjun is also part of the IPL, having joined the Mumbai Indians in 2021. He made his debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023 and has taken 3 wickets in 5 IPL matches so far. He will be seen wearing the LSG jersey in IPL 2026.
