Mumbai, April 14: Rupali Nilesh Chakanakar, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has spoken out against the ongoing baseless allegations directed at her and her family in connection with the Ashok Kharat case. She stated that it has been 28 days of relentless false accusations aimed solely at tarnishing their reputation.
In a post on the social media platform X, Chakanakar expressed her concerns regarding the recent spate of accusations in Maharashtra’s political landscape. She noted that while the media has been presenting evidence related to these claims, the accusers have failed to provide any substantiation. “It has been 28 days, and these unfounded allegations continue without any truth behind them,” she asserted.
Chakanakar emphasized that the accusers have not produced any evidence, nor has the media demanded it. She questioned the motives of those making allegations based on an anonymous letter, urging them to clarify how they obtained it. She criticized the media for sensationalizing the issue without proper investigation, stating that the letter was handed to the police under dubious circumstances.
She referenced comments made by Beed’s Superintendent of Police, Navneet Kawate, who stated that anonymous letters lack legal validity and should not be taken seriously. Despite this, Chakanakar insisted that an investigation is necessary to determine the origin of the letter and its author.
Chakanakar warned that such incidents could set a dangerous precedent, as she and her family are being subjected to mental harassment based on mere speculation and fabricated stories. She reiterated her innocence, stating that there is no connection between her and any financial dealings, land transactions, or illegal activities related to the Kharat case. “I firmly believe that the truth will ultimately prevail,” she concluded.
On March 27, Rupali Nilesh Chakanakar resigned from her position as the state president of the NCP’s women’s wing, addressing her resignation to the party’s national president and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Supriya Sule. In her resignation letter, she stated, “I hereby submit my resignation from the position of state president of the Nationalist Women’s Congress. Please accept it.”
