Meerut, February 21: Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed party workers in Meerut, sharing five key principles for staying connected with the organization and engaging others.

In his fifth principle, Bhagwat emphasized the importance of performing good deeds with authenticity and selflessness. He stated that one should not seek tickets or seats in return for their efforts. “Do good and let it go,” he advised, encouraging workers to strive for excellence in their contributions to the nation. He assured that even if individuals are unaware of the RSS name, they would still be welcomed as members.

Earlier, on February 18 in Lucknow, Bhagwat highlighted social harmony, the eradication of caste, and cultural unity as foundational elements of nation-building. He affirmed, “We are all children of Mother India, brothers and Hindus.” This sentiment, he believes, will help eliminate untouchability and caste divisions. He clarified that the opposition is not to modernity, but to blind imitation. A society that is awakened and united will naturally dissolve political distortions.

While addressing an event, he remarked that caste is not an eternal system but has become a form of disorder in contemporary times. Previously, it was work-based; now, every individual can perform any task. The barriers of caste are diminishing, and the behavior of the youth is changing. “We need to draw a significant line to maintain social harmony—we are all Hindus,” he stated.

Regarding UGC regulations, Bhagwat mentioned that the matter is currently under consideration by the Supreme Court, making it inappropriate to react prematurely. He stressed the importance of preventing division within society. Bhagwat noted that modernization is a continuous process that should not be resisted, but caution against blind imitation of Western practices is essential. “Accept what is new after careful evaluation. Change must align with eternal values,” he concluded.

It is noteworthy that Bhagwat will be visiting Uttarakhand on February 22 and 23. This visit is part of the centenary celebrations of the RSS, which aims to organize extensive Hindu conferences across the state. The organization has set a target of holding 1,000 Hindu conferences throughout the province.
