Mumbai, February 18: The investigation into the Baramati plane crash, which resulted in the death of NCP leader Ajit Pawar, is once again under scrutiny. Rohit Pawar, Ajit Pawar‘s nephew, has raised suspicions that the incident was not an accident but a conspiracy, suggesting that someone orchestrated the crash.

In response to the questions surrounding Ajit Pawar‘s death, Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha stated, “Rohit Pawar is an elected representative. Initially, he did not express any doubts. Shortly after, the Chief Minister wrote to the Director of Safety to initiate an investigation. This is standard practice worldwide. The investigation has commenced, and the black box has been recovered along with all necessary transmissions. There is not much more to say at this point. It is incorrect to make statements without evidence.”

During a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, Rohit Pawar claimed that on the day of the crash, visibility in Baramati was below required standards, yet pilot Captain Sumit Kapoor did not divert the aircraft. He alleged that the plane was intentionally brought down and exploded.

Rohit Pawar asserted that the aircraft was filled with approximately 3000-3500 liters of fuel, far exceeding the requirement for the journey from Mumbai to Baramati. He also alleged that extra fuel cans were placed inside the aircraft to ensure it would explode upon impact like a ‘bomb.’

On the topic of student education, Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha emphasized, “Education alone does not make a child a good person or citizen. Personality development is also essential. This should include a sense of social work.”

Regarding the signing of an MoU between Aniruddha Bapu Disaster Management Academy and Maharashtra Skill Development, Minister Lodha remarked, “This MoU is a necessity in today’s times. While we discuss artificial intelligence (AI), it often takes the government 2 to 6 hours to respond to major accidents or natural disasters. This process wastes crucial golden hours.”
