BJP Questions Sponsorship of Keralas Chief Minister and Ministers

BJP leader K. Surendran demands clarity on the sponsorship of Keralas Chief Minister and ministers amid allegations of favoritism.

Kasargod, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : KASARGOD — BJP National Secretary K. Surendran intensified his criticism of the newly formed UDF government on Tuesday, alleging that unknown sponsors are backing Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and his ministers. Surendran called on the Chief Minister to reveal the identities of these alleged sponsors.

Speaking to reporters in Kasargod, Surendran questioned who these friends are that show such affection towards the Chief Minister and his cabinet. He accused the UDF of rushing to make up for lost time after being out of power for a decade.

Surendran claimed that Satheesan and his team are attempting in three months what former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan accomplished over ten years. He raised concerns about the chartered flight used by Satheesan for a trip from Thiruvananthapuram to Karipur, asking who sponsored the journey.

Additionally, he alleged that the state’s Local Self-Government Minister K.M. Shaji was avoiding government vehicles in favor of traveling in a luxury car. Surendran further claimed that the Home Minister and Sports Minister were being taken on foreign trips by private individuals, expressing confusion over why these ministers are so favored.

He also questioned whether the free benefits and other perks allegedly provided to Congress leaders and ministers were given in exchange for favors, suggesting that there is doubt within the Congress party regarding these arrangements. Surendran demanded clarity from Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and K.C. Venugopal about their stance on the alleged sponsorship of Satheesan’s campaign for the Chief Minister’s position.

The BJP leader also targeted the government over the CMRL-Xalojic matter, accusing Satheesan of attempting to protect former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family.
