Ambala, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Haryana Minister Anil Vij has asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab is feeling threatened by the BJP’s newly launched anti-drug campaign. Speaking to reporters in Ambala, Vij responded to remarks made by AAP’s national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, regarding the drug crisis in Punjab.
Vij stated that the AAP’s discomfort stems from the BJP’s efforts, suggesting that the party is worried about losing power in Punjab. He emphasized that the campaign against drugs has intensified concerns among AAP leaders, particularly about the potential impact on their political careers linked to the drug trade.
As the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections approach, Vij also targeted the Samajwadi Party, claiming that voters have rejected all opposition parties. He noted that regardless of whether they contest separately or together, their political demise is inevitable due to their past failures in governance.
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government, Vij praised Prime Minister Modi’s focus on agriculture and farmers’ welfare. He pointed out that Haryana is the only state purchasing crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), a benefit not seen in other regions. Additionally, he mentioned the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which provides farmers with annual support of ₹6,000, facilitating their small-scale needs—a feat he argued previous governments had not accomplished.
