RJD MP Abhay Kushwaha Dismisses BJP Rumors Amid Political Speculations

Patna, July 18: Amid rising political speculations regarding his alleged closeness to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Abhay Kushwaha, the Member of Parliament from Aurangabad representing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has firmly denied rumors of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing a press conference, Kushwaha reiterated his commitment to the RJD and its leadership, stating that he stands firmly with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.

Clarifying the controversy surrounding his recent meeting with the Chief Minister, Kushwaha emphasized that the discussion was solely related to development projects in his parliamentary constituency and should not be viewed politically.

He stated, “The Chief Minister represents the entire state, not just a specific party or caste. I met him only to discuss development work in my constituency. There was nothing political about this meeting.”

Highlighting his long-standing association with socialist politics, Kushwaha noted that his political journey began with the ideals of the RJD. He mentioned his decade-long service as a Mukhiya (Panchayat head), his subsequent election as an MLA from Tikari, and now representing Aurangabad in the Lok Sabha.

Kushwaha stressed that he has consistently followed Lalu Prasad Yadav’s ideology and declared that the RJD is his ultimate political destination. “The RJD is my final political party. There is no question of leaving it. The party has honored me by appointing me as the leader of the parliamentary party and assigning me significant responsibilities. I will continue to honor this trust,” he stated.

Rejecting any speculation about switching political parties in the future, he asserted that he cannot envision being part of any party other than the RJD, not only for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections but also beyond. He emphasized that his meeting with the Chief Minister regarding development projects should not be interpreted as a political maneuver.

Explaining the purpose of his meeting, Kushwaha mentioned discussions on several infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity in the region. These include a proposed road connecting Banke Bazaar in Gaya district through forest areas to Madanpur, and the long-pending demand to upgrade state and national highways into a four-lane corridor.

He concluded by stating that seeking the Chief Minister’s support for development projects is a duty of an elected representative and should not be misconstrued as a sign of political realignment.
