Varanasi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Varanasi on Saturday to assess the ongoing flood situation in the city. His visit aims to evaluate the relief efforts being provided to residents affected by the recent flooding.
According to reports, CM Yogi will arrive by helicopter at the Varanasi police lines in the evening. He plans to meet with flood victims and hold a review meeting with local officials. Following this, he will visit Vidya Bihar Inter College in the Shivpur assembly constituency to distribute relief supplies. Additionally, CM Yogi will pay homage at the Kalbhairav and Kashi Vishwanath temples.
Accompanying him will be the divisional commissioner S. Rajalingam and district magistrate Satyendra Jha. During an aerial survey, the Chief Minister is expected to provide necessary directives to Varanasi officials. After the visit, he will depart for Lucknow from Babatpur Airport.
Earlier, on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the flood situation in Varanasi with Mayor Ashok Tiwari and District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar. He emphasized the need for ongoing measures to address rising water levels and minimize disruptions for residents.
As the Lok Sabha MP for Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi maintains close communication with local administration regarding the city’s developments. He reviewed the facilities being provided at relief camps and instructed officials to ensure that all essential services are promptly available to flood-affected individuals. Instructions were also given to arrange additional relief supplies as needed, with a focus on continuous monitoring of the flood situation and relief operations.
