Punjabs Law and Order Situation Raises Concerns: CM Naib Saini

Chandigarh, May 31: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini stated on Sunday that the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are collaborating, sharing similar ideologies.

Referring to the recent municipal elections in Punjab, he expressed that the alleged compromise on law and order has raised serious questions about the democratic system.

He criticized the state government for conducting elections via ballot paper, suggesting that it indicates a fear of losing in a transparent democratic process.

Speaking to the media in Kapurthala, CM Saini highlighted that the state government made numerous promises to the public but failed to deliver. He noted that the people have realized that development cannot be achieved through mere announcements and false assurances.

The Chief Minister urged the Aam Aadmi Party government to inform the public about how many promises made during the elections have actually been fulfilled. He pointed out that the expected progress in development projects has not materialized, and the law and order situation in the state continues to deteriorate.

Saini mentioned the rise in gangster and criminal activities in Punjab, which has heightened the sense of insecurity among citizens. He also criticized the government’s anti-drug campaign, “War Against Drugs,” for failing to produce expected results. Instead of taking concrete steps to protect youth from substance abuse, the campaign seems to focus more on publicity.

He asserted that the government should have made more serious efforts in this direction, but the desired outcomes are not visible on the ground.

The Chief Minister praised Haryana’s double-engine government for delivering public welfare benefits directly to the people through various schemes. By integrating the central government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme with the state’s Chiranjeevi scheme, millions of families in Haryana have received improved healthcare services.

He emphasized that the government has taken effective steps to ensure free treatment for the poor and needy. Saini noted that the people of Punjab are increasingly trusting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and development-oriented policies, and they will work to bring the BJP to power in the state in the future.

He concluded by stating that the public desires development, good governance, and accountability in politics, and they will no longer be satisfied with mere promises.
